Absolutely! We can embroider or engrave text on your glove to personalize it. Embroidery happens before the glove is assembled, so allow 4-6 weeks for production. Engraving happens post production and therefore has a shorter lead-time.
There are many of schools of thought on this. The best method for breaking in your glove is playing catch over a long period of time. For a quicker break in, use a glove mallet or small (baseball sized) dumbbell to form the pocket. We discourage the use of cooking oils, most glove oils, microwaves or conventional ovens, or motor vehicles for breaking in your gloves.
With appropriate care, your JL Baseball glove should last you many seasons. After play, wipe down glove with a slightly damp dust cloth. Allow to dry, then store glove in a cool, dark place with a baseball in the pocket. Softball or larger ball is discouraged, as the pocket will take the form of that object over time.
We don't have a brick and mortar showroom. However, gloves can be seen by appointment in Austin, TX or Los Angeles, CA. We'll also hit the road for special events like tournaments and showcases. Our Instagram feed is the best way to follow the roadshow.

We have 3 collections: Time Honored, Signature and 27 Outs. The prices may vary a bit but the quality of construction and material of each are equal.
Time Honored Collection represents our clean, classic designs inspired by the rich tradition of fine baseball glovemakers since the modern welting and binding methods of construction superseded the puffy pillow-glove days. Our time-honored designs are generally in-stock.
The Maker's Collection represents our founders' and glovemaker's fondness for eye-catching design and peak performance. Perhaps a little on the showy side, they still give proper credence to the nostalgic simplicity of those who preceded us in the craft.
27 Outs Collection. Gives new definition to the phrase, "Flash some leather". These unique, showy designs are super limited in production and offered just 4 times per year by invitation only. All Starting 9 members are given the opportunity to acquire 27 Outs pieces. Alternatively, you may receive an invitation by joining the waiting list.
It can be a little overwhelming. As a general guideline, start first by identifying what glove appeals to you most aesthetically. Then, determine size. Here's a rough guide:
Infield: 11.25", 11.5", 11.75"
Outfield: 12" and above
Web designs are totally a matter of preference. Pitchers like a closed web so as to hide the ball better when forming their grip. While most infielders use an open construction web configuration, Derek Jeter preferred a closed basket-web style. Willie Mays bucked the trend of most Outfielders by using a totally closed web for much of his career. To each his own. Call us or shoot us a note, we'd be glad to run through the pro's n cons of each configuration you're considering.
We have a Professional Glove Program open to affiliated and unaffiliated professional players. The Player or Player Agent may contact us at email@example.com to initiate entry into the Professional Glove Program.
