The James -JL- Lincoln Standard

Handpicked. Handcrafted. Built to Last.

Every JL glove begins with hand-selected hides of American Kip leather — chosen for grain, weight, and feel before a single stitch is placed.

How It's Made

The Anatomy of a Perfect Glove

No shortcuts. No compromises. Every J.L. glove passes through the same deliberate sequence of steps — each one performed with precision, each glove built to outlast the game.

Leather Selection

Step 01

Leather Selection

It starts with the hide. We select only the best American Kip leather — inspecting grain, weight, and surface before a single pattern is drawn. Only the top tier makes the cut.

Pattern & Cutting

Step 02

Pattern & Cutting

Each glove shape is traced from a master pattern, then cut with precision dies. The cut determines the pocket depth, finger stalls, and overall break — decisions that define how a glove plays.

Precision Die-cut to pattern
Stitching & Assembly

Step 03

Stitching & Assembly

Industrial needles are used to thread through multiple layers of leather. Every seam is checked for consistency. The welt, the back, the palm — each panel stitched in sequence.

Stitches Triple-lock seam
Lacing

Step 04

Lacing

Rawhide lace is threaded through each finger and around the web. The lace tension is set by feel — tight enough to hold form, loose enough to allow break-in.

Conditioning & Finishing

Step 05

Conditioning & Finishing

The finished glove is conditioned with premium leather oil, shaped on a form, and inspected for symmetry and feel. Only gloves that pass every checkpoint leave our floor.

"One of the best baseball gloves I have ever owned! All materials used on their baseball gloves are top of the line. The attention to detail in every order is unmatched. Incredibly excited to see what the future holds for this company!"

“Always been a loyal Rawlings guy until I found a better glove. My JL Glove not only has a better build quality but has a better look to it as well. This glove makes turning a double play silky smooth with a perfect pocket to get the ball out quickly.“
— Ryan - Louisiana
“Such a great glove! And a great company to deal with too. Their gloves feel great on the hand and overall quality is right on par..if not better than all the top offerings from Wilson,Rawlings, Nokona, and 44.”
